Unified League Bowler of the Month
Inman's is proud to announce Dianna Lawson is our 1st Bowler of the Month. This is an effort we are happy to share with our followers. She participates in the Porter County Special Olympic Unified League that bowls here every Monday from August to December . Unified has county, area, and state tournaments.
Each team consists of 2 athletes and 2 partners. Dianna bowls with her mother Helen Lawson. The two of them are a force onto themselves. Dianna feels "...it is fun". She just loves bowling because she makes lots of friends. Although she has been practicing regularly for the National event in Reno, she recently learned it has been cancelled due to the Corona Virus. It will not be rescheduled for this year. March 2, 2020 is the new date.
She has been bowling in Special Olympics since she was 8 years old. With her special bowling ball with a retractable hand strap or the use of the ramp she keeps knocking down those pins.
Despite her Spina Bifida, 13 surgeries, and the fact she is paralyzed from her L5 vertebrae down she still has won gold medals and has come in 4th and 6th place.
Keep up the Great Effort Dianna!
